MONTANTE FAMILY

My family is much like every other family out there. However, there are numerous ways in which we are all different. Two things we have in common are that we are all passionate and ambitious. We all want success and enjoy the euphoria that comes with it.

My father is Milky. He is a successful businessman and he's currently in law school on a full scholarship thanks to his intelligence.

My mother is Lexie. As a businesswoman and philanthropist, she often serves as a leader in the many organizations she participates in.

My younger sister is Hannele. Even though she appears to be reserved and strict, she's incredibly fashionable and in touch with the latest trends in pop culture.

My younger brother is Huan. In our family, he is recognized as the most peaceful and kindhearted member.

Like most teenagers, I've had my fair share of struggles to get me to where I am now. Things like panic attacks, questioning my sexuality, academic pressure, and breakups affected me for a long time. But despite going through all of that, my family and friends remain by my side. These challenges have helped me grow as a person.

I have a lot of friends, but there are only three people in whom I have total trust: Erika, Anton, and Tyrone. In my worst moments, they were there to hold my hand. These people made me laugh, and they made me feel like I'm deserving of love and acceptance. Now my actual best friend is Erika. She was always there for me, and I never felt alone. She and I have gone through a lot of different groups of friends, but in the end, it's always just us. There are four other people in my life that are close to me: Jade, Myles, Shaun, and Larry. I love them all very much.

Anya Taylor-Joy is someone I really admire. She's one of my all-time favorite actors and models. She has an easygoing personality and a tremendous amount of talent. Because of her, I became a huge fan of films and TV shows.

My favorite film right now is Little Miss Sunshine (2006), and my favorite TV show is Peaky Blinders. A few of my favorite sitcoms are Modern Family, Derry Girls, Abbott Elementary, and What We Do In The Shadows.

I love listening to Taylor Swift, Laufey, and Queen. My favorite genres are indie, r&b, soul, classical, and pop-rock.

In the future, I want to be a doctor. So, as a student, I am working and studying really hard to achieve my goals. I participate in extracurricular activities and even enroll in academic immersion programs abroad. A doctor I idolize is Doctor Tricia Robredo, the daughter of VP Leni Robredo. I hope to be like her one day.

REFLECTION

Consciousness of one's own identity is essential to one's growth as a person. Take an objective look at your life and see where you may need some work. It's through this process that you come to know yourself and discover what your genuine priorities are. It's critical that we as students don't look back on the choices we've made in the future and feel regret. The future is uncertain, therefore we should consider all options carefully. When you are old enough and mature enough, think about what you want to be when you grow up.

Through this class, I've learned about the many aspects of my character. It aided my exploration of my own and other people's perceptions of myself and my values. I can say that this subject has helped me grow as a person.
